A need or a want

October 13th, 2006 at 02:32 am

Was this a need or a want? My set of 8 is currently actually a set of four. All my bowls are chipped, and most of the plates.

A need in was I eating off the floor - no. So technically the new dishware is a want.

Lets just say I went crazy today. We got there at 7am and were finished all our shopping around 4. It was a very long day but I'm happy with what I got.

I'm too tired to type more tonight! G'night all!

frugality is not about deprivation but about not wasting. I think unchipped dishes, if you have the money, is a need. Poverty or poor living is the oposite of frugality.

I definitely consider a need, and agree with Sarah. And I'm happy you liked what you got! I'm sure you deserve it.

great point, sarah! the whole point of frugality & a budget is to forego the things we only kinda want, in order to be able to get the things we really truly want. i personally like having dishes that don't risk slicing my fingers when i wash them! hope you got something you'll truly enjoy.

We used the chipped for every day! We use the better stuff for company. When things get banged up too much we look for a sale. Hey, if you need it you need it, right? I hope you got something nice!WinkSmile
