Reusing Wrapping Paper

December 25th, 2006 at 07:41 pm

Yup I admit to doing it! Do you ever do it? Come'on admit it.. *grins*

I did it today as a matter of fact. I'm not to proud to admit it. I had a couple of gifts left to wrap and i reused some paper that had been used to wrap a present for my boyfriend.

This likely just proves I'm 1) frugal and 2) the child of my parents.

Next step is carefully ironing the used wrapping paper and then saving it to use next year. My parents do that. So does my aunt. I'm not there yet. I have not yet reached the pinnacle of frugalness.

Because in my family we had an Ursuline nun no ribbon or paper was to small to be salvaged. Like your group , Paper ironed and ribbon steamed was the order of the day. And yes, it is ingrained in me to this day. I must admit it does come in handy and when my daughters need wrap guess where they come?

baselle - a ripper? I don't remember presents being ripped open when I was a kid at all. Now though my aunt is about the only one who openly saves paper and she has given up on most of us and she usually just saves the paper she get on her presents. Though if I am not careful I'll be doing more and more of this (or should I say if I am careful and frugal....)

You should be proud of yourself. You recycled, reused, and made it do all in one fell swoop. We use mostly gift bags here and just reuse them every year. Double points for gift bags that can be used for birthdays as well as Christmas. Each kid gets at least one present wrapped in paper they can rip though, because it is fun.
