Free Kraft Dinner

October 22nd, 2006 at 11:06 pm

A local store had KD on 2 for $1. I found a coupon for buy 2 Kraft products save $1. That makes the KD free. Why we call it Kraft Dinner up here and Kraft Macaroni and Cheese in the states - I dunno - it is exactly the same stuff. Macaroni with this strange orange powder that you mix with milk and butter/margarine.

I eat the stuff rarely. It doesn't quite fit the nutritional profile of food I want to be eating (even when made with skim milk).

I'm going to buy as much of it as I have coupons for (I used 4 coupons today and have 14 more) and donate it all the the food bank. I love finding deals where I can help others at no or little cost to me.

    Now that's a thoughtful thing.

Its like the Bare Naked Ladies song "If I Had Million Dollars":

If I had a million dollars
If I had a million dollars
We wouldn't have to eat Kraft Dinner
But we would eat Kraft Dinner
    Heck we'd eat more!

hmmmm... maybe canada realized it's neither macaroni nor cheese, and therefore won't allow them to market it as such Wink

Could well be... laws are *just* different enough in the two countries with regard to labelling. Maybe the power that be up here decided that flourescent orange stuff isn't really cheese.

    baselle,

Thanks, now I can hear the tune in my head. I've liked the BNL since they were banned by the city of Toronto.

And buy really expensive ketchups with it
Thats right, all the fanciest ke... dijon ketchups!
    Mmmmmm, Mmmm-

BNL was banned by the city of Toronto? Did I miss something?

Yup but only if you followed them in 1991. In 1991 as the name was deemed offensive to women and they were banned from playing a New Years Concert at City Hall.
