Hump Day Blatherings

Had a note that I had a parcel with the mail last night. I picked it up this morning. A cute teatowel and a hot pad with a cute snowmen on it. This was from an exchange on on of the coupon groups I'm on.

Also in the mail today a coupon train! I'll have to go through that tonight.

Stopped at the grocery store to pick up some of their free calendars (with coupons) to bring for my workmates. I love sharing freebies!

I like wearing skirts, even in the winter, but hate the entire pantyhose thing. I wouldn't mind if I didn't go through them so fast. Pantyhose sure aren't frugal. I stopped on the way to get some tights. At least with the Hanes tights I get more than one wear out of them.

    Boy, I hate pantyhose! Wish I didn't glow in the dark so that I could get away with never wearing them.

    My friend who also wears skirts a lot, usually wears knee high socks with them. She pulls it off really well. Makes me think perhaps I could wear more skirts but then I'd have to buy knee high socks....

    dunno, i feel odd wearing knee socks and a skirt, like some guy's school-girl fantasy which isn't helpful during a long day at the office!

    Have you tried "Family Dollar" They sell seconds in Panty Hose usually brand names for 1.00. Also they sell good quality knee highs for 3/1.00. I love them.

    Knee socks and skirts at work? I know some can do it. To me it feels wrong. Adult/school girl thing.... I'm with Tina on this ... great theoretical idea.......

    I love wearing skirts all yr round. I have some 3/4-lengths that reach mid-calf, so I get by wearing knee-highs or trouser socks. Someone told me there were thigh-highs but that sounds kind of scandalous to me- hehe. Opaque and colored tights/stockings are in style now, and more tolerable than hose. And you can also wear tall boots and then just have that tiny bit between knee & skirt hem to worry about (cover up by wearing a longer overcoat outside- perfect!)

    I like the tea length skirts, or just below the knee length skirts, with knee high boots myself. One good option is Danskin dance tights. They have them in tan (like nylons), black, white and pink and they are super strong. They last a lot longer than nylons or cheap tights, but are more expensive. There are also ice skating tights which are also pretty strong.
