My indulgence this past weekend

April 4th, 2007 at 03:51 am

Here is a picture of the bouquet of flowers I bought myself this weekend. They have pride of place on the middle of the dining room table!

Less than 10 at the grocery store and they are supposed to last 10 days. $1 a day. Not to bad. A few bent so I have a few that are in a tiny vase on the shelf in the bathroom cheering up that room too!

(Oh and as I live in an apt I don't have the option of cutting flowers from my garden)

Pretty. I like the accent of the pink placemat under them, too.

those flowers remind me of when i bought a mixed bouquet at the university farmers market for $2.50 and brought them home as a surprise... =)

Nice - very pink! I got some flowers on the weekend too from DH for our 6 months anniversary. I wasn't expecting it at all.

Pretty. I wish I could have flowers at my house. Unfortunately my kitties are nosey little things and last time I had some the vase was broken in the floor and flowers everywhere when I got home from work. Silly kitties! I still love them though. Smile

I don't know if you know who Flylady.net is but one of here writers on pampering inspires its members to buy flowers. They are beautiful. Congratulations on being good to yourself.

Aleta, I do the flylady thing though I'm more a flutterer than a full fledged flyer..LOL..

The best thing about the flowers is that they are still looking gorgeous. Definitely $9 well spent. I need to change the water and cut them down again tonight a bit though to ensure I can keep them til the end of the week!

I heard Martha Stewart say that when you are cutting your flowers, do it under running water as that's the first thing they will breathe after being cut. Then, do it on an angle. As the days go by, I just cut my flowers shorter and sometimes like you have a small bunch for a smaller vase in case some fall over.
