Time to find my mittens.

May 22nd, 2007 at 11:01 pm

Summer is here. The time when my thoughts to to finding my mittens.

You'd think with all the memos we get about doing things efficently and effectively at the office and about how we must keep our expense margins low that they'd not be cranking up the air conditioning every evening come 5pm. Can't get it too warm in here just in case the night security guard falls asleep?

The office no longer supplies styrofoam cups as an effort to be greener but they freeze you if you stay late. 5pm and they crank up the air conditining so much that I have goosebumps and find it hard to type my hands are that cold.

Welcome to summer. The time when construction blooms outside and you need snowsuits at the office. Seriously I think I'm going to bring in a pair of gloves. I'd bring in mittens but not sure if I can type with mittens on.

Years ago, I worked in an office where we froze all summer and burned up in the winter. Seriously, I kept the windows open year round to try to even it out. We got sparks shooting from the phone during the dry winter heat in the office. I ended up having to cut off my long hair because they fried it with the intense dryness. The thermostat to the building was on the other end in the shade so they kept us in misery. So I totally understand what you are saying!

My office is exactly like that. We always have air-condition fights. It's always girls who are cold and guys who are hot. I have to wear sweater inside during the summer, and in winter it's so hot and dry my nose bleeds..

My office is like this but it just means all I need is one winter wardrobe for all year - it is quite frugal - Wink Looking on the bright side.

I pulled out my winter jacket today at work myself. I had been musing why I had seemingly no summery work clothes. I am slow. I remember now - LOL.
