Shopping carts $1

December 1st, 2007 at 03:43 pm

Went to Zellers (very similar to target in the US). To get a buggy they now make you depost a $1 to use the cart.

Yeah you get it back but holy crap. That's totally annoying.

I got revenge by buying only the one item I went there for. I won't be shopping there much any more. Seeing I never shopped there much before I am sure they're too concerned about my annoyance.

There used to be a store around here that had a little device on the cart that chained it to the next one in the row. You had to insert a quarter to unlock it. When you returned the cart, you got your quarter back. They did it to discourage people from leaving carts all over the parking lot. It was annoying because sometimes you got to the store and didn't happen to have a quarter. Then they made little slugs to keep on your key ring, but it was still annoying.
